This delicate pink stone is often now associated with all forms of love. Which makes it quite apt
to talk about as we head into February.
The Romans used it as seal to declare ownership and Egyptians thought the stone could prevent aging. That makes me wonder whether there are any face creams with rose quartz in today. In the Middle Ages the stone was used in healing potions. Despite its other uses the stone appears to have been linked with all forms of love throughout history.
There are Greek and Roman myths detailing the link. In the Greek myth Aphrodite tries to save her lover Adonis but both of their blood spills on the ground and gives the stone it’s colour. This lasting stain is said to represent eternal love. The Roman myth tells the story of how cupid gives the gift of love through rose quartz.
